Spring Break: Day 2

HISTORY

I wake up and my feet still hurt. I don’t know how that is possible but they did so lucky for me we didn’t do as much walking on day two as the day before.

After breakfast, we loaded up the bus and headed to the United Nations. To be honest, I didn’t go in with a lot of knowledge as to what the UN does or historically has done. I did learn a lot and it is actually really cool how they get stuff done. We left the UN and headed to the financial district for lunch and window shopping because everything was VERY expensive.

We walked to the One World Trade and the 9/11 Memorial. I was very young and lived in South Dakota in 2001 so 9/11 never really hit me. All the after effects like heightened security is all just normal to me. I was humbled by all the names at the memorial and I don’t know why I had never thought of it that hard before but it was definitely something humbling.

We walked over to the first responders church a few blocks away and saw all the memorials and history there and after that, we hit wall street. We saw the bull and the buildings but this was all leading up to the main event of day two. next
